This season sees a number of internationally distinguished soloists performing an exceptionally varied repertoire, such as the prestigious French Calliopée Ensemble in cooperation with world-renowned clarinettist Michel Lethiec for a magical Czardas and Johann Strauss night, on November 2, while on November 3, the Some handsome hands German/Greek piano ensemble and the awarded Italian pianists Alessandro Stella and Chiara Opalio present works for two pianos by Mozart, Scriabin, Ravel, Saint-Saëns, Glinka and Baynov. On November 5, the Calliopée Ensemble entices the audience into Brahms' passionate Romantic masterpieces, the Piano Quartet in G minor and the Piano Quintet in F minor, in collaboration with Japanese pianist Ai Motohashi and Greek Alexandra Nomidou, as well as the Leader of the Greek National Opera Orchestra, violinist Yannos Margaziotis. On November 10, forty singers from Greece (PPC mixed Choir) with mezzo Elena Maragou and barytone Kostis Konstantaras, accompanied by internationally awarded Greek pianist Apostolos Palios, gather around the piano to present the audience with an exciting musical journey from Schubert's best-known lieder through beautiful Greek songs by Hatzidakis and Theodorakis to The Beatles' most precious "classical" gems !
The Festival organisation owes a lot to Foreign Embassies, cultural Institutions, media and individual sponsors as well as the valuable and kind support of the Athens Parnassos Literary Society.
