Biography

Paris based Greek pianist Alexandra Nomidou studied at the Athens Conservatory and later in Paris with Pierre Sancan, Yvonne Lefébure, Yevgueni Malinine and Leon Fleischer, at the Tanglewood Music Center.

As soloist, she has performed with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, Athens and Thessaloniki State Orchestras of Greece, world premiering the 2nd concerto by Greek composer Petros Petridis, the Athens Symphony Orchestra and The Orchestra of Colours.

As chamber music artist, she has appeared in the Athens Megaron Concert Hall and in numerous concert halls in France, England, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Brazil and USA, mainly with the "Trio Hellenique", but also with "Trio Ligeti", the "Vienna Soloists" quartet and the "Athens String Quartet".

Alexandra Nomidou has recorded two albums with EMI, with works by Schumann, Schubert, Brahms and Ravel, which received excellent reviews.

Since 2005, she has been artistic director of the "Around the piano" concert series, in Athens.
